The build story

This did not start as a product roadmap. It started as a workflow that should not have been so hard.

A client already had MemberPress selling courses and MailerLite handling email. The weak point was the bridge in the middle. After a domain migration, reconnecting the old setup became awkward, expensive, and harder to trust than it should have been.

The constraints were real

The site owner wanted to stay on MemberPress Growth, not upgrade plans just to re-open one integration path.

The ask was simple

Map each product to a MailerLite group in WordPress admin, let completed transactions sync, and keep future launches manageable.

The design decision followed the business need

That meant a narrow plugin, not a broad automation platform. Direct sync mattered more than feature breadth.

What got built

A direct purchase-to-group workflow inside WordPress.

  • MailerLite token connection inside the plugin
  • Product-to-group mapping for MemberPress offers
  • Bulk sync for existing members
  • Activity visibility for testing and troubleshooting
  • A setup that future course launches could reuse

“It’s a huge headache and time consuming problem sorted. I didn’t like Zapier at all as it was glitchy and so time consuming. Now it’s automated I don’t have to think about it.”
